Ed wasn’t diagnosed with vEDS (Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) until after he survived open heart surgery. Like many, the diagnosis brought answers to his life, but also came with many challenges.

  1. Ed’s health issues are complicated by the fact that his mother was adopted and we know little of her family history other than she may have been bi-racial. Ed’s mom succumbed to cancer (neurofibromatosis) when she was 29. His dad, me, never really recovered from the loss and that didn’t help him any.
